So I met with a woman we’ll call Penny who began her progesterone therapy a couple of months ago. She heard of me through a friend, sat in on a Happy Hormone Hour and thought, being age 50, it might be a good idea to do a saliva test and get her hormone and cortisol levels checked. When her lab work came back to us, her levels were off, but not horribly. Let’s just say I’ve seen a lot worse!
I just received this e-mail from a friend about her recent interaction with her doctor: “When he asked if I had concerns I told him I was going to the cottage his face got red and he laughed. He said my labs didn’t indicate I was premenopausal. BUT, he didn’t offer any other solutions or address my concerns in ANY way. I am SO frustrated with that attitude.
I had a fun experience at a recent Happy Hormone Hour at the Beavercreek Senior Center! I met with close to 50 women (and 2 poor men!!) between the ages of 55-90 and just had the best time.
I just had yet another phone call from one of our clients, who will be meeting with me later today to get started on her natural customized hormone replacement therapy. She has been to the cottage for her consultation, has had her saliva tested to check her hormone levels at the tissue level of cells; had our team at the Piqua Medicine Shoppe craft a treatment strategy specifically for her; and went to her practitioner to get our strategy approved via a prescription.
I hear this a lot! “Oh, I’ve already gone through menopause. I’m done with ALL THAT!” Oh, but you’re NOT!! Did you know that once you are through menopause (average age of menopause is 50 years of age), this is the time your body MOST needs natural hormone replacement therapy?
Have you ever wondered why current standards of care exist? Does it make them the BEST choice just because they have always been done that way in the health field? I think not.
I love when I hear this…..”I just want to check with my doctor before I sign up for customized natural hormone therapy.” I always think to myself, “WHY??” I know women love their doctors. I also have a great one, Dr. Paul, whom I enjoy, actually get a kick out of, and I KNOW he has my best health as his goal. But….
Once upon a time in the Heart of Centerville was an adorable little cottage where a team of stunning patient counselors lived! They were terribly busy helping women and men navigate the muddy, muddy waters of hormone imbalance by educating them on the strategies for natural hormone balance through customized natural options. Everyone was happy learning new strategies that didn’t involve antidepressants and drugs(!) and women left the cottage feeling validated and respected, AND feeling better than they had in years.
I heard it again! One of my neighbors, late 30’s, actually talked her doctor into doing a hormone check on her and of course, “Your results are normal!” Why the big surprise? Her practitioner used blood serum to check her hormone levels
